Description
Chlorambucil
Chlorambucil is a high-purity alkylating agent used in pharmaceutical formulations and research applications for the treatment of certain cancers and hematologic disorders. It belongs to the class of nitrogen mustard derivatives and is widely utilized in oncology for its cytotoxic activity against rapidly dividing cells.
Chlorambucil appears as a white to off-white crystalline powder that is practically insoluble in water and soluble in selected organic solvents. It is chemically designated as 4-[Bis(2-chloroethyl)amino]benzenebutanoic Acid and is sensitive to heat and light, requiring controlled storage conditions.
In pharmaceutical and research applications, Chlorambucil is used in:
• Oral formulations for treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia
• Management of Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphomas
• Oncology research involving alkylating agents
• Studies of DNA crosslinking and cytotoxic mechanisms
• Pharmacokinetic and bioavailability research
• Development of anticancer therapeutic strategies
Chlorambucil functions by forming covalent bonds with DNA through alkylation, leading to crosslinking of DNA strands and inhibition of DNA replication and transcription. This results in disruption of cell division and induction of apoptosis in rapidly proliferating cells.
CarboMer supplies Chlorambucil with defined assay, impurity profile, and physicochemical characteristics suitable for regulated pharmaceutical research and development.
The material is packaged in sealed, moisture-resistant, tamper-evident containers and protected from excessive light to preserve stability and handling quality. Available in laboratory and pilot-scale quantities. Documentation includes Certificate of Analysis (CoA), Safety Data Sheet (SDS), and full traceability.
Each batch is tested for identity, assay, impurity profile, water content, and related substances where applicable. Technical support is available to assist with formulation development, stability considerations, and application-specific requirements.
As with all CarboMer supplied oncology active compounds, Chlorambucil is supported by dependable global supply, rigorous quality systems, and expert technical guidance to ensure consistent and reliable performance in pharmaceutical and research applications.
